Who are we?
The Beat Box are Laura Hodge and Kevin Guthrie. Kev and Laura met at Beath High School where they both studied music, Kev focussing on drums and percussion while Laura played piano and studied singing. Laura went on to study for a B.Ed in Music and Kevin chose to focus on historical studies and work as a percussion tutor. Almost 20 years later they joined forces again pulling together their different talents and personalities to create music education company, The Beat Box!
What makes us different?
We aim to create music for primary schools that not only encourages and inspires the children through music, but also educates them at the same time through various cross curricular themes. We understand that performing isn't for everyone, but through our productions we hope to help the children grow in confidence, work together as a team and seek to learn more through the topics we cover in our shows.
